Frequently asked questions…
What description can I use for you for my newsletter or promotional materials? The Saddle Shoe Sisters celebrate the best vocal groups of all-time from the Andrews Sisters to the Supremes and everything in between. the 1940s-60s. Their retro clothing, harmonies and signature saddle shoes have been a big hit with those longing for a sweeter, purer time in music.
What will you need from our venue for your performance? We need one three-pronged outlet within 6 feet of the stage only. If your venue has a piano that is in tune or a keyboard, please let us know that in advance.
Can you provide us with a poster for the performance? Yes, please ask and let us provide you with a poster. Please do not randomly look for photos on the internet to use.
I am on a limited budget. How can I get the best rate for your performance? We give out the best rates for early shows that are between 10am and 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. We also give the best rates during the months of January, February, April, May, October and November. We also charge less for two girls than we do for three girls.
Do you do larger shows such as sock hops, car shows and festivals with drums? Yes, we LOVE to do large shows and we have male band members that we add to the group sometimes on drums and bass for a fuller sound.
Can you do a Christmas show? Can you do a Veteran’s Day show? Can you do a Halloween show? Yes, we have themed shows for every holiday/season and we have performed EVERY type of holiday/season. For example, we do songs such as “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,” at a Christmas show. We do patriotic songs such as “My Country ‘tis of Thee,” at a Veteran’s Day or Fourth of July show. We do songs such as, “The Monster Mash,” for a Halloween show.
How come sometimes you perform with 2 gals and sometimes you perform with 3 gals? We charge more for 3 gals than we do for 2 gals, but understand that sometimes senior homes have a very limited budget. We put on a stellar show regardless of how many people are in the group at a time, so we don’t want venues to miss out if we can accommodate their shows. Some venues are very small and can only fit 2 gals.
What is the most expensive time frame to book you, and why? Saturday nights are the most expensive night of the week because our gals are in exceptionally high demand for weddings and corporate events that pay bands thousands of dollars. We often get asked to do events on Saturday afternoons, but they can interfere with our travel for night shows on Saturdays or make us worn out for our Saturday night shows. Friday nights are the second most expensive time to book us.
Do you interact with senior citizens? Yes, having done hundred of shows for senior citizens, we understand that they like to be engaged and interacted with. We LOVE senior citizens and it shows. Most bands fail with seniors because they don’t talk to them like human beings.
Why do you ask for a desired budget? Clients are actually more likely to get a better rate quote if they declare what their desired budget is. It also helps us determine the nature of the event you are looking for, and gives us an idea so that we can best compromise and make both parties as happy as possible.
How come you seldomly perform Elvis, the Beatles, or Sinatra? While we understand that those artists are enormously popular, we feel that they are overplayed to the point that concertgoers are sick of hearing their songs on a regular basis. We are a unique group and our harmony lends the best to the girl groups that we cover such as The Andrews Sisters, McGuire Sisters, The Crystals, The Supremes and many, many more.
Do you take requests? Yes, if you are planning on attending a show and would like to make a request, we ask that you email any song requests at least 10 days prior to a show.
I saw one of your band members playing a piano. Do you have a portable piano that you can bring to my venue? Yes, we have multiple keyboards that we bring out to shows.
How far will you travel to a show? We will travel anywhere if the price is right. We are located in the Chicago suburbs and typically don’t usually travel more than 60 minutes each way without charging additional travel rates.
